The story of Eloria Gems began in the early 1980s in Ratnapura, the heart of Sri Lanka’s renowned sapphire industry.
Our founder’s father, Rahmàn Haji, began his journey as a gemstone merchant, building relationships with local miners and supplying gemstones to local traders and international buyers visiting Sri Lanka. Through his work across Ratnapura, Kahawatta, Pelmadulla and Rakwana, he established a respected name in the trade — Rahmàn Haji Gems — founded on trust, business ethics and lasting relationships. His friendships with fellow gemstone merchants and the support of experienced traders helped strengthen his journey in the industry.
In 2021, Mr. Insaf, the current CEO of Eloria Gems, entered the gemstone business full-time, continuing his family's legacy. Building upon his father's foundational work, he established Eloria Gems with a vision to connect Sri Lanka's rich gemstone heritage with buyers around the world.
Today, Eloria Gems continues this family legacy, operating from Ratnapura and Beruwala, Sri Lanka — two important locations within the country's gemstone trade. From these roots, we source rough, cut and polished gemstones, with a focus on quality, careful selection and the individual requirements of each customer.
Our sourcing extends across Sri Lanka and Madagascar, with a particular interest in Ceylon blue sapphires, fancy-colour sapphires, rubies, Mahenge spinels, tsavorite garnets and other coloured gemstones. With business connections reaching markets including Bangkok, China and the United States, we aim to make the gemstone sourcing experience personal, transparent and dependable.

We ship worldwide using specialized high-value courier services including Malca-Amit, Brinks, and FedEx Priority Insured. All shipments are legally exported under National Gem and Jewellery Authority (NGJA) clearance from Colombo with full transit insurance. Tracking numbers and airway bills are issued immediately upon handover.
For international wholesale and trade purchases, we accept official Bank Wire Transfer (SWIFT / TT) to our corporate bank account in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Escrow arrangements can also be facilitated for qualifying high-value gemstones.
